Kforce Software Engineering Manager / .Net in Westlake Village, California

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Software Engineering Manager/.Net in Westlake Village, California (CA). Summary: You will be reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, the Software Engineering Manager oversees the Engineering deliverables on one of three product delivery teams in a fast-paced Agile environment using Scrum. Sprints are typically 2-3 weeks with 1-2 releases per month for each product. Each team is structured to work seamlessly with stakeholders to continuously improve the solution set offered. Responsibilities include:

  • Overall Technical Product Owner

  • Actively work with functional Product Owner to design technical solutions to business problems

  • Lead and mentor Engineers on the team

  • Create technical diagrams and/or specs based on product requirements

  • Help with release management responsibilities

  • On-call for escalated issues

  • Monitor health of application

  • Responsible for overall technical design, balancing short-term and long-term goals

  • Ensures application meets performance and security standards

  • Ensure all engineers meet code review standards

  • Actively participate in Architecture group to discuss cross-cutting solutions

  • Code a minimum of 25% of time

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • 7 years of post-college experience or 10 years of professional experience without degree

  • 2 years leading technical teams with current hands-on coding experience

  • Strong experience developing web applications using ASP.Net MVC with C# in a services-oriented architecture

  • Strong client-side experience using JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS

  • Strong knowledge and work experience in MVC design pattern

  • Strong knowledge developing REST web services using Web API

  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices

  • Strong knowledge of database concepts and SQL Server

  • Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Strong knowledge of web application design and development

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to comfortably move across high-level technical design, detailed technical design, implementation, and production support

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment using Agile development methodologies

  • Ability to use seasoned judgment to suggest approaches that optimize among customer needs, business constraints and technological realities

  • Enjoy working in a small team environment
