The Boeing Company Mid-Level Reliability Engineer in Seal Beach, California
The Boeing Company is seeking a Mid-Level Reliability Engineer to support the In-Service Fleet in the Southern California Design Center, Customer Support Center.
Performs reliability analyses including; mission reliability requirements/performance parameters, mean time between failure, predictions, allocations, etc.
Applies knowledge of aircraft system design & integration, operational procedures, and hazard identification.
Analyzes system, subsystem or Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) failures.
Assists in fault prediction/detection/isolation analysis, probabilistic risk assessment.
Provides reliability, maintainability and system health trends of product performance
Working knowledge of statistical analysis concepts such as normal distribution, standard deviations, mean, probability, and confidence levels.
Regularly monitors, interprets, and integrates complex technical data, quickly and efficiently, from a wide variety of sources.
Applies analytical skills to a diverse set of structured and unstructured data located in multiple databases.
Performs large volume data reduction using spreadsheets, databases, and other tools.
Analyzes data to detect trends, associations, and cause-effect relationships, and develop viable action-oriented recommendations.
Assists in the definition, development and execution of failure reporting and corrective action activities and reporting to customers throughout the product lifecycle, to identify and correct deficiencies.
Excels at working independently and collaboratively, in an investigative role, where detailed processes and procedures are not always specified.
The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with an exceptionally positive and solution oriented can-do attitude.
Provides analysis results to product teams, in order to influence design and comply with requirements.
Assists in the definition, development and implementation of processes and tools, needed to execute reliability, maintainability and system health functions and engineering supportability to improve productivity, accuracy, quality and efficiency.
Works under direct supervision.

Typical Education & Experience:
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experience performing reliability analyses including; mission reliability requirements/performance parameters, mean time between failure, predictions, allocations, mathematical modeling and statistical processing.
2 years experience working with statistical data analysis and presenting the results.
Ability to create macros and scripts.
Commercial aircraft system design and engineering knowledge.
Experience working with spreadsheets and data bases programs (e.g., Excel, Access, and SQL Database knowledge)
1 years experience using Tableau for data visualization and dashboarding.
Knowledge of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA); Fault Tree Analysis; and hazard analysis at the system, sub-system, functional (electrical/mechanical), component and device level.
The position requires flexibility to address emergent issues and important airline meetings off-hours and may require an occasional off-shift work schedule to support the fleet operating 24/7/365.
