Kforce has a client in search of a Claims Processing Supervisor in Pasadena, California (CA). Summary: The Claims Processing Supervisor is responsible for the operations of one or more claims processing units, including timely and proper adjudication of claims in accordance with contractual benefits. One is responsible for providing leadership and direction to employees. One directs the processing of insurance claims to meet operation, financial, and service requirements. The Claims Processing Supervisor develops and executes strategic and operational business plans for the departments. One coordinates department operations and modifications with other areas of the organization. Responsibilities include:

  • Works on issues of broad scope

  • Receives assignments as objectives with the processes necessary to fulfill those goals

  • Requires considerable planning and direction setting

  • Develops and directs work schedules and monitors work flow to achieve established goals and objectives

  • Responsible for recommending changes in guidelines, procedures, and policies

The primary job duties this position is responsible for achieving are listed in order of importance:

  • Provides overall supervision of the collections department, contributes and ensures accurate and timely collection of all appropriate revenue for PBS

  • Recruits and maintains a competent, motivated and qualified staff including disciplining, counseling, coaching, advising, training, termination and resolution of personnel issues

  • Conducts performance evaluations for staff

  • Monitors and measures collection performance against cash performance targets by collector, by payer category, by medical center and division, and maintains communication between the collections teams and service area PBS teams

  • Identifies and develops new products and services to enhance recoveries; Communicates updated procedures and information to all involved parties

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field required

  • High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) minimum education requirement if candidate has 4 years of experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in claims processing

  • Minimum 3 years of management in a claims processing environment

  • Requires knowledge of claims processing and working knowledge of another functional area

  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
