Position Summary:

As the Sr. Technical Trainer, you will be responsible for developing and managing a world-class education program to support HARMAN’s Tour Audio & Performing Arts business. In this role, you will develop product specific training modules, create online training content and work with outside pro audio instructors to facilitate a variety of pro audio seminars. You will work closely with HARMAN Application Engineers across the globe to schedule and deploy training across all regions. You will develop and maintain an online global training calendar and work with HAMRAN PR personnel to promote and book regional education events. Being the Sr. Technical Trainer, you will get the chance to deliver trainings at HARMAN facilities as well as train all other HARMAN personnel delivering trainings to customer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create product specific training modules – work with the Tour Audio & Performing Arts Solutions manager to develop product specific training modules. This module can include PowerPoint presentations, online content, as well as hands on training with the actual products.

  • Educational Videos – work with HARMAN Marcom personnel to create online educational videos to support a variety of HARMAN products. The video content can be software how-tos, hardware, rigging or in support for a new product release.

  • Train the trainer – responsible for training all HARMAN personal (i.e. Application Engineers) responsible for delivering trainings to customers. Maintain a comprehensive database of training material and deliver content updates to HARMAN instructors.

  • Deliver Trainings – responsible for delivering trainings to customers. Owner of the bi-monthly Tour Audio training at the Northridge Harman Experience Center.

  • Pro Audio Seminars - work with industry personnel to arrange non-HARMAN specific trainings at HARMAN facilities. This can include mixing workshops by well-known FOH engineers, system optimization workshop or rigging trainings.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work as part of a remote team.

  • Have excellent communications skills with an ability to “think on your feet” and speak professionally to both internal and external customers

  • Self-sufficiency in design, commissioning, and support of Harman Professional solutions

  • Both Technical and Project management aptitude

  • Able to lift up to 50lbs for setting up of training equipment on the road.

  • Bachelor of Arts in Business, Engineering, Communications, or related field

  • 3-5+ years of experience in performance audio with specific familiarity and experience of Harman Professional solutions

  • 3-5+ years field experience managing performance audio, including modeling, rigging, tuning

  • 3-5+ years relevant experience producing technical instructional content and/or marketing programs

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Audio Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

  • AVIXA CTS-D certification

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 20% of the time

  • Willingness to work in an office in Northridge, CA
