The Patient Access/Revenue Cycle Process Analyst is responsible for organizing, training, and coordinating

effective & efficient process improvement activities within the Patient Access and Hospital Revenue Cycle

areas. Relies on experience and judgment to accomplish responsibilities, works under minimal supervision,

while creativity is expected to perform job. The role requires a strong background in performing or supporting

hospital Patient Access functions along with a general knowledge of Revenue Cycle functions

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages process improvement activities and quality control measures for all areas of Patient Access

  • Assists in coordination of information management planning, Joint Commission and other or regulatory compliance in cooperation with other departments.

  • Provides ongoing education, training testing to the Patient Access employees

  • Develop policies and procedures and training material applicable to work flows and processes

  • Acts as a liaison between teams, departments.

  • Maintains a good working relationship with physicians, case management, registration, billing office, and clinical areas and works to resolve issues.

  • Research industry best practices, benchmarks and tools to incorporate into analytics practices as well as implement said practices. Analyze organizational data to identify potential, existing or future business needs and makes recommendation on how the data may influence business strategy.

  • Maintains routine scorecard tracking, metrics and trending analysis for leaders in conjunction with annual goals and objectives.

  • Processes account source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to Registrars for resolution

  • Reviews and monitors daily reports, and work ques for needed updating or corrections.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Master’s degree,optional

  • 5-7 years of experience in a Hospital or Practice Management environment business setting engaged in and/or managing projects

  • Experience in Patient Access business practices required

  • Expert knowledge in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, required

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present information to management in a clear, concise and professional manner

  • Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously without compromising quality

  • Superior oral and written communication skills as well as analytical, creative and results-oriented

  • Extremely well organized while leveraging collaboration tools and techniques

  • Analytical and detail oriented in all work activities/tasks, with a strategic perspective to enable the translation of metrics into trends, identification of improvement opportunities and root cause

  • Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills

  • Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment to coordinate work

  • Frequently travels by airplane, train or car as necessary to perform work at another location

  • Regularly uses close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare and analyze and transmit data

  • Generally works in an office environment
