Kforce has a client seeking a Tableau Developer in Costa Mesa, California (CA).Responsibilities:

  • The Tableau developer will be part of a report migration project from Business Objects to Tableau; Will work closely with the BSA and Datamart/ETL lead responsible for requirements of the reports to be migrated; Responsible for providing reporting and dashboard solutions

Responsible for participation in projects from requirements gathering through design, development and deployment:Gathering Requirements:

  • Assessing data structure; If data structure is not flexible enough for a regularly recurring report or meet the performance needed for a live report request adjustment to data structure

  • Review glossary or other context needed to understand the data

  • Assist client in focusing on one question per dashboard

  • Design specs for Tableau dashboards & reporting, considering appropriate data flow and capture

  • Make sure flexibility requested by client is needed (over-filtering often leads to poor performance)

Build and prototype Tableau dashboards:

  • Develop rich interactive visualizations integrating various reporting components from multiple data sources

  • Must be proficient building more complex calculations and presentations

  • Test in-browser performance of dashboard

  • Facilitate user acceptance testing

Facilitate deployment to Production:

  • Set proper access levels for end users

  • Test in-browser performance

  • Must possess detailed knowledge of relational databases and data warehouse architecture to create user-friendly analytic solutions that are flexible and scalable to meet the customers evolving needs

  • Must have extensive knowledge in various reporting objects like Facts, Attributes, Hierarchies, Transformations, filters, prompts, Calculated fields, Sets, Groups, Parameters etc., in Tableau

  • Experienced Tableau development

  • Any relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
