St. Joseph Heritage Healthcare is calling for a Director of Managed Care Finance to Anaheim, CA.

The Director will have overall responsibility for St. Joseph Heritage Healthcare’s managed care contract and financial performance across the state of California. The Director directly assists the Heritage CFO with analysis and presentation in all areas of Manage Care finance, including financial planning and monitoring, new product evaluation, and risk pool arrangements. The Director partners with with Medical Group, Regional and Ministry leadership teams for management and Board reporting.

The Director manages multiple managed care departments across multiple regions of PSJH. The role oversees the daily/monthly operational performance of over all managed care/capitated revenue, while also setting the long term strategic opportunities and direction.

The following are essential job accountabilities:

Assists the Chief Financial Officer in overseeing the planning, implementation, monitoring and effective utilization of managed care and full risk contracts for St. Joseph Heritage Healthcare. Prepare monthly financial summary on all risk contracts by plan and by network, including utilization and unit cost trends, identifying areas of potential savings / efficiencies. Develop, manage and track Risk Pools for Medical Group, Affiliate and Institutional partners. Analyze and review monthly results for risk against annual plan and forecast projections and provide variance explanations/recommendations. Provide financial support in the completion of monthly system reports. Prepare in depth performance analysis on risk contracts, as assigned. Manage financial terms and coordinate all related activities. Provide status updates on current trends, initiatives, issues, and resolutions. Provide monthly financial analysis on medical cost reduction initiatives, coordinating with Operations on new initiatives or changes to existing ones. Prepare annual budget and forecast on for full and shared risk contracts. Summarize P&L performance, outlining key assumptions. Works closely and collaborates with the Heritage Vice President of Finance Operations and with the departmental management teams in planning and implementing coordinated “regional and ministry” wide strategies and goals. Work closely with accounting to understand budget assumptions to ensure appropriate variance analysis is performed on a monthly basis. Gives input for establishing strategic goals and priorities based on organizational needs assessment. Ensure the career/work development, cross training, and succession planning among the members of the team. Prepare and present various presentations to Board and executive management teams at the medical group and Heritage Board Prepares and presents information for trustees and other internal and external groups in support of the financial, strategic and operational performance. Supports and implements other financial, analytic and operational projects as identified by the CFO.

Required qualifications for this position include:

Bachelor's degree required. MBA or CPA preferred. Minimum 10 years of accounting or finance experience; staff supervision experience.
